The ISN is committed to ensuring equitable access to the World Congress of Nephrology 2026 (WCN’26). Travel grants are available to ISN members residing in low- and lower-middle-income countries according to the World Bank income classification.
These grants help reduce barriers to participation by covering congress registration and contributing to travel and accommodation costs.
What the travel grant includes
- Complimentary registration to WCN’26 (Includes WCN courses, except the interventional nephrology course, which requires separate registration and can be purchased for 165 USD)
- Fixed monetary contribution toward travel and accommodation

Eligibility criteria
- Applicants must be ISN members (ISN Full member, ISN Joint Group member, or ISN Trainee) residing in a low or lower-middle-income country as defined by the World Bank income classification list.
Exceptions: Current ISN Fellows training in higher-income countries, ISN Sister Center participants from supporting centers. - Priority is given to members:
- Presenting an abstract at WCN’26
- 40 years old and below (born in 1985 and after)
- Past and present participants of the ISN Regional Training Centers, Sister Renal Centers, Fellowship, Clinical Research, and Mentorship
- Past ELP members (Emerging Leader Program). Current ELP members should not apply for this grant.
- If you have received three previous grants to attend ISN events, you are no longer eligible to apply.
- Due to the high volume of applications, WCN organizers reserve the right to limit the number of grants assigned to the same institute/organization.
Grant conditions
- By December 5, 2025, successful grant applicants will receive a registration code for complimentary access to WCN’26 and detailed instructions for claiming travel and accommodation reimbursement.
- Do not register to attend WCN’26 before your travel grant is approved. Your registration fee will not be refunded. Please make sure to use the registration code to get complimentary access to WCN’26.
- Travel and accommodation must be booked and paid upfront by grant recipients.
- Make sure to check the monetary contributions offered and book as soon as you receive your notification of acceptance.
- Upon submission of required documents, reimbursements will be paid by bank transfer after WCN’26 (from March 31, 2026).
- Travel grant recipients will be asked to support use their own social media accounts to help promote WCN’26 by sharing event updates and highlighting the opportunities WCN and ISN offers.
