The WCN Social Media team is a vibrant group of over 25 kidney health professionals committed to delivering dynamic social media coverage of the congress.

Here’s what the role entails…
You’ll participate in regular online meetings—weekly, biweekly, or monthly—depending on the preparation phase. You’ll also contribute by creating social content such as visual abstracts, quizzes, speaker or delegate interviews, and engaging with the vibrant WCN online community.

  • In the beginning: ~6 hours week
  • Ramping up to WCN: ~16 hours/week
  • During WCN: ~10 hours/day
  • After WCN: ~1 hour/week

Selection criteria

To be part of the SoMe team, you must:

  • Have an active ISN Membership. Not yet an ISN member? Join today.
  • Attend WCN’26 in Yokohama, Japan
  • Demonstrate a passion for science communication on social media
  • Have completed the ISN Social Media Curriculum at the ISN Academy
  • Maintain a professional and engaging presence on social media which is aligned with ISN’s values

Additional considerations include:

  • Global and regional representation
  • Gender balance
  • Participation in ISN activities (committees, initiatives, working groups)
  • Team rotation (new applicants may be prioritized)
  • Range of nephrology expertise (e.g. pediatrics, transplantation, interventional nephrology)

Applicants will be evaluated by the Social Media Team Chair, Deputy Chair, and ISN staff.

The ISN reserves the right to exclude applicants whose public online activity does not align with ISN’s values or community standards.

Applicants will be notified by email about the status of their application approximately one week after the application deadline. The final WCN Social Media Team will be announced on the WCN website on January 9, 2026.
